Installation Instructions for Wide Angle Door Viewers

Tools required for Installation (UltraVision – SuperVision – WideVision)

  1. Power Drill
  2. Hole Saw with pilot drill bit
  3. Small 1/8" drill bit
  4. Tape Measure & carpenter's level
  5. Pencil

  1. Use the tape measure to determine the best height to install the Viewer on your door
  2. Use the level to mark a horizontal line over the spot where you would like to install the Viewer, and/or place the installation label on the desired location outside the door making sure you keep it horizontal to the line.
  3. Use the 1/8" starter bit to drill a small hole where the center of the opening will be and to drill any necessary holes to accommodate the spikes behind the outside cover of the Viewer.
  4. Use the recommended hole saw for the viewer being installed, and start slowly by placing the pilot drill over the center of the previously drilled 1/8" opening.
  5. Start drilling from the outside of the door until the pilot drill protrudes lightly through the interior side of the door.
  6. Remove the hole saw and go to the inside and finish drilling the hole out, taking care not to chip or splinter the door.
  7. Disassemble the outside prism cover casing from the main body of the viewer by turning counterclockwise until it is off.
  8. Insert the outer prism cover casing to the exterior side of the door with the spikes into the pre-drilled holes to set it flush with the surface of the door.
  9. Insert the viewer main body into the hole form the interior side of the door and turn clockwise while holding the outer cover in place until it is tightly held. Do not over tighten.
  10. Secure the viewer by turning the fastening ring until it is snug with the door surface.
